Hi Everyone, welcome to the new wiki page to support STLAs in our network. On this page you will be able to view and access information, edit it, share ideas and support each other in our positions as STLAs. As you will see a wiki is a great space for you to use with your students as well.During 2008 I was acting Deniliquin District APLA. This wiki space was one of the initiatives I put in place for the Deniliquin District.
In 2009 Wendy Hughes will be the APLA. We will continue to keep this wiki space operational. Wendy will also be setting up a wiki space for the region's APLAs and support staff.

How to Add info to the page
1.Click on EDIT above.
2.Wait for the edit panel to appear at the top of the page.
3. Add your information. You can type info directly,cut and paste from a word document or a URL link or link pages. You can also add pictures and even music.
4. Finally click SAVE or otherwise your additions will be lost.
If you want to put your information on a new page.......
1.Click on 'new page' under Action above left , give your page a title (eg Maths resources) add your info then press Save. A link to your new page will automatically appear under Navigation on the left.

The Learning Assistance Program
The Learning Assistance Program supports students experiencing difficulties in learning in regular classes, regardless of the cause. It includes support for students with significant learning difficulties, mild intellectual disabilities, and language disorders.
The Learning Assistance Program includes Support Teachers Learning Assistance, Support Teachers Early School Support, Support Classes Language and Reading and funding to primary and secondary schools.
Assistant Principals Learning Assistance are available to provide advice to schools about establishing and supporting school Learning Support Teams, support for teacher professional learning and advice regarding specific student needs.
Prior to making an application schools are required to discuss applications with Assistant Principals Learning Assistance.(APLA)
Funding Application Dates
Regional Allocation Committee (RAC) meets week 3 and week 9 each term.
Applications for Designated STLA (Carol Bradley)for the next term are due to APLA by end of week 7.
The APLA should have been consulted and be expecting these applications.(see eligibility for District STLA Page on the side- also where to find application forms)
Applications for Additional LAP Funding should be in by end of week 2 or week 8 each term so
they can be presented at the RAC meeting the following week.
Access Request forms are available on the DET intranet. Search "Learning Difficulties Access
Request Forms".
